Nugraha Bratakusumah, is a legal practitioner and Intellectual Property (“IP”) consultant with more than 10 years of experience providing assistance for both Indonesian and foreign clients. Nugraha started his career in IP field in 2010 with Business Software Alliance (BSA), an international alliance software which handles copyright infringement in Indonesia. In 2012, Nugraha started joining one of the most prominent IP law firm in Indonesia. With Nugraha, the law firm received numerous kinds of international awards, such as Legal 500, IP Stars to Asia IP Law.
Moreover, Nugraha with the Criminal Investigation Unit at the Indonesian National Police Headquarters had succeeded in uncovering major cases of violations of Intellectual Property Rights (“IPR”), such as the arrest of a vaccine counterfeiting syndicate in 2016 with 15 suspects, revealing vehicle oil counterfeiting carried out by factories in Bekasi area, and most recently Nugraha had become the first to reveal the syndicate of piracy upon online Indonesian movies with the Cyber Crime of Indonesian National Police Headquarters.
With former experience at one of the largest law firm in Indonesia, in 2021, Nugraha officially joined Nurmansyah Intellectual Property Rights (NIP) Firm as a Litigator and Patent Attorney.
Nugraha had participated in various activities and trainings upon IP matters in many countries, such as being a representative from Indonesia to take part in Intellectual Property Rights education in Tokyo, Japan in 2016 namely “Japan Patent Office Training Course for Practitioners Specializing in Trademark” and also attended the meeting of Intellectual Property Consultants throughout Asia, namely the “63rd Council Meeting, Penang, Malaysia” which was organized by the Asian Patent Attorney Association (APAA) in 2014.
Based on his extensive experience in the field of IPR, in 2020 Nugraha was successfully named as the “TOP IP Leaders Award” by one of the world’s Intellectual Property assessment institutions, namely IP Gorilla in America.
